Sr Field Engineer II Job Description: As a permanent on site representative to our customer, this individual will support the Command and Control Switching System (CCSS) and the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) in the DC area. This includes defining customer requirements and performing installation, integration and upgrades of customer equipment. Required Skills: 1. Knowledge and experience with Raytheon switching system products including SDS, RSU, DSS-2 and DSS-2A and peripherals. 2. Knowledge and experience with the CCSS and DRSN, with an understanding of various cryptographic equipment and the ability to interface to such equipment. 3. Existing Presidential Clearance or the ability to obtain it. 4. Plan and accomplish local customer site installation/integration of digital switches and associated peripheral equipment. 5. Read and interpret Statements of Work, Blueprints, Wiring Diagrams, and Floor Plan location and installation of equipment and wiring. 6. Experienced with various electronic test equipment. 7. Understanding of OSHA safety requirements. 8. Adaptable and flexible as it pertains to customer directed changes. 9. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. 10. Strong customer interface skills. Desired Skills: 1) Understanding of TEMPEST requirements as it pertains to the installation of Red/Black communications equipment. Required Education (including Major): Associates Degree in related technical field preferred, however will accept related experience in communications systems installation/maintenance experience in lieu of degree.
