Group Summary:

The Intuit Global Small Business Division (GSB) is responsible for establishing Intuit’s presence in emerging international markets such as India, China, and Pacific Rim countries as well as for developed markets such as the United Kingdom and Canada. The target offerings developed and launched by the GSB will focus on solving important unmet needs for small businesses and/or consumers in the global marketplace.


Role Summary:

As the Senior Interaction Designer in the Intuit Global Small Business Division (GSB) you will be part of a team that is responsible for driving the definition, requirements, design and delivery of new web & mobile offerings for global markets. The User Experience is a critical success factor to the adoption and long term success of all our products. Our new web & mobile products will serve as catalysts to extend Intuit’s market share & leadership globally in our areas of expertise – helping SMBs grow their business & enabling consumers to simplify their financial lives.

The role will start as an individual contributor reporting to Intuit’s Mobile Offering Lead based in Bangalore, India. Intuit’s Mobile Solutions PM team is a lean, fast-moving, and high-caliber team that is focused on to delivering high quality, innovative solutions which delight our customers, are widely adopted by the market, and are competitively differentiated. Although we are focused on delivering world-class mobile solutions, it must be noted that every offering is built with seamless integration between the PC Web and Mobile in mind … and hence it is critical that the person in this role has the ability to design best-in-class user experiences that are optimized for each interface.

Success will require closely engaging the market and our customers. The role will be ‘hands on’ with frequent customer interactions and require accountability for the key deliverables and related offerings “results” (e.g. delivering an exceptional and unique user experience that exceeds usability & performance benchmarks).

Role Responsibilities:
• Apply strategic thinking to deliver exceptional and intuitive end-to-end user experience solutions. Will be directly responsible for delivering all aspects of design including
• defining customer needs
• delivering concepts, prototypes, and compelling visual experiences
• defining UI specifications for engineering
• Have a passion for customer engagement and “on-the-ground” market research required for new products … with the ability to learn quickly from research to define a delightful User Experience that will make the product a unique, indispensable solution for customers
• Work directly with customers, Product management, and engineering to design end-to-end experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behavior and verify design concepts.
• Employ rapid concept ideation to turn visions into concepts and translate those concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system complexity. Utilize industry design standards and best practices to define and implement design criteria, design guidelines, and style guide
• Create visual designs that effectively communicate product function and brand identity including the design and production of
• screen layouts
• business process optimization &simplification
• color palettes

• Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, user flow diagrams, wireframes, design prototypes, and design specifications.
• Work closely with development teams to manage the design process, drive decisions, track design issues and ensure that design specifications are implemented.
• Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
• ‘Can do’ attitude and be comfortable working in fast paced, unstructured environment where team members will be distributed across different locations. Collaborate effectively with remote team members, including designers, researchers, engineering, product management, marketing, and others
• Passion for creating products that are emotionally engaging. Stay up to date with new technologies, industry and design trends and demonstrate a passion for learning. Participate in and foster design thinking among the Global Business Division
• Exhibit the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork in all aspects of the job.
Your Talents: Qualifications:
Profile
• Minimum BA/BS degree in interaction design, human factors, graphic design or related field
• 5+ years of user interface design experience with consumer applications, preferably rich web apps/sites and mobile apps.
Role-Specific
• Experience in delivering high-volume, high-profile, or award-winning web sites or products
• Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research
• Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flex, Visio
• Proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, etc).
• Knowledge of web-based technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions, including the capabilities and limitations of Web technologies Flex, Ajax, Flash, DHTML, CSS, scripting, and various other technologies a plus
• Strong online portfolio available for viewing
