Sr Systems Engineer I Working with other program engineers on the architecture of electrical and optical telecommunication systems at the component and system levels. Working directly with program customers to define system requirements, and perform system analysis, integration, and testing in laboratory environments. Developing and writing system requirements, test plans, procedures, and other technical documentation. Performing optical experiments and optical communication analysis using electronic and optical test equipment, and software tools such as Matlab and LabView. Supporting trade studies to determine future system requirements and design. Minimum 5 years experience in a laboratory environment designing, assembling, integrating, and testing electrical and optical telecommunication systems. Experience with modern electronic and optical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, optical time domain reflectometers, optical sources, amplifiers, filters, fusion splicers, etc. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work closely with customers in a dynamic environment on time critical projects with changing requirements. Ability and willingness to occasionally perform duties outside the scope of the position, in order to meet program surge requirements. Ability to prepare technical documentation, and provide briefings for program management and customer personnel. Experience installing commercial fiber optic telecommunication systems. Work on optical research and development projects, including generating technical reports. Experience working on intelligence community programs. Experience providing support to proposals. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other engineering/science discipline. Masters degree in a technical discipline a plus. Location: Currently in Falls Church, VA, with relocation to Dulles area in late 2010. Security: TS/SCI required, with willingness to take CI polygraph.
