REQUIREMENT in a nutshell:



o Must be a natural born US Citizen (Even a naturalized citizen is not acceptable to the Client)

o Good virtualization skills on POWER5 HW-VIO (configuration, builds & setup)

o experience making changes to VIO L-PARs and making changes on the HMC to the server profiles

o AIX 5L Administration skills on POWER3, POWER4 and POWER5 HW architecture are a MUST. P6 is a plus

o Good NIM Installation and setup knowledge, as well as, NIM client deployment skills

o Strong UNIX shell scripting (Perl scripting a plus)

o Supported an IBM TSM environment

o DOD Security cleared candidate would be ideal.



Job Description



Seeking a System Administrator to provide 2nd Level UNIX support for primarily AIX on IBM RISC6000 and P-Series HW, as well as, Red Hat Linux and HP-UX within a 24/7 environment.

Good virtualization skills on POWER5 HW-VIO experience making changes to VIO L-PARs and making changes on the HMC to the server profiles



Duties and Responsibilities:



15%

• Participate in AIX, LINUX and HP-UX OS installations.
• Participate in customizations.
• Install and configure middleware software such as WAS, MQ, WebSeal, TAM, TDI, WPS etc

• Help maintain already setup and configured virtualized and static logical partitions on IBM P-Series HW, Intel HW using VMWARE and HP-UX, as well as, PA-RISC HW also using HP-UX.
• Make use of the AIX NIM server to restore images or to initiate installs.
• Configure and maintain daily backups using TSM

• Respond to work requests which include but are not limited to problem trouble-shooting, root cause analysis, executing scheduled changes, performance analysis, HW/FW maintenance, provide storage .etc



10%

• Gather support requirements from clients, maintain inventory of supported environment and provide weekly reports on work activity.?



Education:• Bachelor of Computer Science of related field

Minimum Experience: • 4+ years experience as a System Administrator in a Unix/Linux environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Good virtualization skills on POWER5 HW-VIO (configuration, builds & setup)

• AIX 5L Administration skills on POWER3, POWER4 and POWER5 HW architecture
• Good virtualization skills on POWER5 HW
• AIX 5L IBM Certification / Red Hat Linux Certification
• POWER6 and AIX 6 experience
• Good NIM Installation and setup knowledge, as well as, NIM client deployment skills
• Strong UNIX shell scripting (Perl scripting a plus)
• Supported an IBM TSM environment
• Familiar with the IBM WebSphere Suite (WAS, MQ, WebSeal, WPS, CM.etc a plus
• Supported VMWARE on Intel and LINUX environments (Red Hat Linux preferred)
• Supported HP-UX environments
